Spay & Neuter:
Spay:
A spay is the surgical removal of the ovaries and uterus from a female dog or cat. This makes the pet unable to reproduce and eliminates their heat cycle and breeding instinct-related behavior. We recommend spaying your pet before their first heat cycle, or around 6 months of age. Spaying your female pet will prevent uterine infections and possible mammary cancer.
A neuter is the surgical removal of both testicles of a male dog or cat. Neutering stops the pets ability to reproduce. We recommend neutering your pet at 6-12 months of age. Neutering reduces the risk of enlarged prostate, prostate infection, and testicular cancer. Neutering can also decrease certain types of aggression, roaming behavior, and anxiety.

Each pet and breed is different, so do not hesitate to talk to your veterinarian about the correct choice for your pet.
